THE ANTIQUE ORIGINAL

The antique medals in my Crown of Grace collection are carefully searched for and selected according to their age, shape, subject matter, detail and rarity. Many of the treasured originals used in my work are more than a century old.

Rather than simply drawing inspiration from these old devotional pieces, I preserve their beautiful details—including the subtle character and imperfections acquired through age—by creating molds directly from the antique originals.

THE HANDMADE PROCESS

I create a two-part silicone mold from the antique medal and individually hand press small-batch bronze clay into the mold.

After drying, each piece is kiln fired at approximately 1,420°F using a double-carbon firing process, transforming the bronze clay into solid bronze.

Every medal is then individually hand wire-brushed to create my signature soft matte-gold base. The raised details are carefully polished, allowing the high-relief areas to catch the light and creating the luminous, old-world finish that has become a signature of Crown of Grace Designs.

Because every medal is individually formed and finished by hand, subtle variations and imperfections are expected and celebrated. They are part of the character of handmade work and preserve the soul and beauty of the antique original.

THE NECKLACE

The substantial etched rolo chain is hand selected to complement the scale and character of the antique medal. A front toggle closure becomes part of the design, giving the necklace its distinctive statement look.

The chain has a double-layer, non-tarnish matte-gold finish selected for durability and tarnish resistance and is nickel, cadmium and lead free.

This is not a tiny, delicate religious necklace. It was created for the woman who loves meaningful Catholic jewelry with presence—something that feels collected, storied and special.
