French Eucharistic Crusade Cross Statement Necklace | Antique French Catholic Medal Replica | Bronze Clay | Handmade by Crown of Grace

Inspired by a rare antique French Eucharistic Crusade devotional cross, this substantial statement necklace beautifully depicts two adoring angels surrounding the Holy Eucharist beneath the radiant presence of God. Rich in symbolism and devotion, this remarkable design has been carefully preserved and faithfully recreated by hand to honor the beauty of the original antique.

The original French cross was discovered through an antique auction and became part of my growing collection of historic devotional medals. Using a handcrafted silicone mold, I individually press each piece in solid bronze clay before kiln firing it at 1,420°F using a double-carbon firing process in my studio in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.

This striking cross is suspended from a luxurious 3mm matte gold wheat chain that offers the substantial feel and elegant appearance of fine heirloom jewelry. An etched Art Nouveau-inspired bail beautifully complements the antique styling while allowing the cross to remain the focal point of the design.

Each medal is hand finished using my signature technique, where only the raised details are carefully polished while the recessed areas retain a soft matte patina. This process highlights every intricate detail and ensures that no two pieces are ever exactly alike—each one possessing its own unique character, just as the antique originals did.

The Crown of Grace Process

One of my greatest joys is the search. Whether I’m bidding in an online auction, wandering through an estate sale, or being entrusted with a treasured family heirloom, I’m always looking for devotional medals that deserve to be admired once again.

Each antique in my Crown of Grace collection is chosen for its history, artistry, rarity, and the story it has to tell. Many of the original medals I work from are well over a century old.

Once I discover a piece, I carefully create a handcrafted mold before individually pressing each replica in solid bronze clay. After drying, every medal is kiln fired at 1,420°F using a double-carbon firing process, then meticulously hand finished in my studio in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.

I believe imperfection can be beautiful when it is created by human hands. The subtle variations that naturally occur during this process ensure every piece carries its own unique identity while honoring the remarkable craftsmanship of the original.
